Lyrical Legends Karaoke, currently hosts karaoke at three different venues, each will be running the exact same contest. The contest schedule is organized as follows: four weeks of qualifying rounds, followed by three weeks of semi-finals, and concluding with one week dedicated to the finals. Depending on the venue, these rounds will take place on either four consecutive Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays for the Qualifying stage; three Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays for the Semi-Finals; and one final Thursday, Friday, or Saturday for the Championship event. Please note that each venue’s contest operates independently, meaning you have the opportunity to win prizes at all three locations.

The start date for the Annual Lyrical Legends Karaoke Idol Contest has yet TBD. 

The next annual contest cycle, will be determined once the first contest gets underway.

No rules may be changed once the contests have begun. However, if errors or omissions are discovered after the contest has started, corrections will be made as necessary.

All rules are subject to change before the start of each new contest cycle.

The locations where the contests are held and the dates the contests will start are as follows:

1. December 4, 2025 - Every Thursday, 9pm-1am @The Bull; Pub & Grill, 3313 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke

2. December 5, 2025 - Every Friday, 9pm-1am @The Bull; Pub & Grill, 2800 Skymark Ave, Mississauga - **We have gotten confirmation from the Owner on the new start date**

3. December 6, 2025 - Every Saturday, 9pm-1am @The Squire; A Firkin Pub, 3335 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke

Lyrical Legends Karaoke House Rules:

We kindly ask all contestants to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the 9:00 PM start time, as all Lyrical Legends Karaoke Idol contests begin promptly at 9:00 PM sharp. Punctuality is essential—late arrivals, even by one minute past 9:00 PM, will not be permitted to participate in the contest and may possibly be replaced. Please plan accordingly to ensure a smooth and timely start for all participants.

For participants in the Semi-Finals or Finals, arriving one minute or later past 9:00 PM will result in forfeiture of your spot, which will be given to the next eligible contestant on the waiting list with the highest score.

While we understand that delays can happen, it would be unfair to the contestants who arrive on time to postpone the contest for those who are late. No exceptions will be made to this rule under any circumstances.

Lyrical Legends Karaoke will allow duplicate songs to be sung. However, we will also try inform you if someone else has requested the same song as you. We will also leave it up to the contestants judgement on weather or not they want to change their song.

**Time permitting, regular karaoke will continue once each contest has concluded**

Qualifying Round Information:

Qualifying rounds are open to the everyone; however, only 20 spots are available during each Qualifying round. Each contestant will be asked to perform a slow song and a fast song, in any order of their choosing. The order of performance will follow the sequence in which contestants signed up. The top five contestants from each of the 4 Qualifying weeks in December will advance to the Semi-Finals in January 2026. In the event of a cancellation or disqualification, contestants on the waiting list of the Qualifying rounds will be called (in the venue only) in the sequence in which they signed up. You must be present to accept an available spot. Anyone who does not make it into the Semi-Finals will be placed on a secondary waiting list which is to be used during the Semi-Finals.

Semi-Finals Round Information:

The Semi-Finals will consist of 20 contestants who advance from the four Qualifying rounds. Each Semi-Final round will feature a specific theme: the first round will be Country Night (no duets permitted), the second round will be Songs From a Soundtrack Night (no duets permitted), and the third round will be Duets Night. All contestants will be required to perform any two songs of their choosing in each semi-final round. 

The performance order will be determined by contestants’ placement rankings in each of the Qualifying rounds. For the first round, contestants will perform from lowest to highest placement, proceeding in order from Week 1 through Week 4. For the second round, the order will be reversed, with contestants performing from highest to lowest placement, proceeding in order from week 4 through week 1 and for the third round the order will revert back to the original order of the first round of Semi-Finals. In the event of a cancellation, disqualification, or no-show, contestants on the waiting list will be called (in the venue only) in order of highest to lowest score. You must be present to accept an available spot. This may possibly only apply to the first round of the Semi-Finals and not the second or third rounds.

Finals Information:

The finals will feature the top 10 contestants selected from the semi-final rounds.

 Please note that an additional fifth category—the Costume Category—will be included during the Finals. The performance order for the finals will be determined at random and will remain the same for both rounds. The complete performance order will be announced prior to the start of the Finals. In the event of a cancellation, disqualification, or no-show, contestants on the waiting list will be called (in the venue only) in order of highest to lowest score. You must be present to accept an available spot. Each contestant will be asked to perform one slow song and one fast song, in any order of their choosing. This will only apply to the beginning of the Finals.

Waiting List Information:

The top five winners from each Qualifying round will advance to the Semi-Finals, resulting in a total of 20 contestants for the Semi-Finals. If you did not make the Semi-Finals but you have been added to the the Semi-Finals waiting list, we strongly encourage you to attend, as you may be called (in the venue only) to participate in the event of a cancellation, disqualification or no-show.

Scores for contestants on the waiting list from each round of the contest will be posted on our website and will also be available at the venue. A link to view the waiting list scores will be provided—please check this page regularly to see if you have been added to the waiting list.

1. Lyrical Legends Karaoke is not responsible for any issues that occur due to incomplete or inaccurate song information provided by contestants—for example, if the wrong version of a song is played. However, if an error occurs on our part, despite receiving the correct details from the contestant, we will ensure the judges are informed so that no points are deducted as a result.

2. Lyrical Legends Karaoke is not responsible or liable for any issues arising from a contestant’s failure to read, understand, or comply with the official rules and information pertaining to the Lyrical Legends Karaoke Idol Contest. It is the sole responsibility of each contestant to review and adhere to all contest guidelines and requirements.

3. By registering for the Lyrical Legends Karaoke Idol Contest, participants grant Lyrical Legends Karaoke Entertainment full consent and permission to use any photographs, video recordings, or other media captured during the event for promotional and marketing purposes related to the contest. We will never sell or share your personal information or likeness with any third party.

4. Lyrical Legends Karaoke reserves the right to delay the start time of any contest due to severe weather conditions, including blizzards and other storms. This policy does not override the rules regarding late arrivals, so please plan accordingly and make every effort to arrive on time.

5. Lyrical Legends Karaoke does not show favoritism and will not accept bribes under any circumstances.

6. If you have qualified for the finals, please check with us to ensure that we have the two songs you wish to perform as well as the correct versions of those songs. In the event that we do not have your selected songs, we will make every effort to obtain them. If we are unable to do so, you will be asked to choose alternative songs.

7. Lyrical Legends Karaoke will not tolerate extremely rude or inappropriate sexual behavior from any contestant. Any contestant found engaging in such behavior will be immediately disqualified from the contest.

Cancellation Policy:

In the event that a scheduled Lyrical Legends Karaoke Idol Contest night is cancelled for any reason, contestants will be contacted as soon as possible. We also recommend checking this website or our Facebook page in case we were unable to reach you. 

Please ensure that your contact information is accurate and up to date.

Scoring:

There will be 4 categories for both the Qualifying rounds and Semi-Final rounds. They are as follows:                              

1. Song choice: 0-5 points - Does the song suit your vocals and how difficult is the song. 

2. Performance: 0-5 points - Do you have confidence and movement or are you just standing still, looking at the screen.

3. Vocal quality: 0-5 points - Are you able to showcase a good range of your vocals. Are you able to express emotions through your voice.           

4. Crowd appeal: 0-5 points - Did the crowd enjoy your song, vocals and performance. 

• Total = 0-20 points                                    

During the Finals, a 5th category will be introduced, to enhance the overall experience—ensuring that both contestants and audience members have an even more enjoyable and engaging time.

 5. Costume: 0-5 points - Did you dress appropriately for your song choice. Does your outfit stand out or are you just in regular street clothes.
